Marimba
Evanelia Amador is 37 years old and has been a widow for three years. She is raising three small children on her own; ages 9, 6 and 3. She does field work field to support her family, earning about $40 a month. Where the family was living was in a high risk area for washouts; putting her family in a very vulnerable situation. There was another piece of land available and we reached out to help the family to move to the new location with better housing. Her comments “May God bless you richly for helping me to have a safer place for my children and I to live. Thank you so much!”
La Puente
Alejandra Ramirez is 86 years old and has been a widow for 10 years. Due to her age she cannot earn any wages but she has a granddaughter who provides her food and some money to support herself. Her house was in very poor condition and the church reached out to assist her with that. Her comments “May God bless everyone involved with this noble gesture to assist the poor. I am so happy with my new housing! May God bless you all in abundance!”
Agua Zarca
Martin Ramos is 64 years old and married. Their children are all grown. Their house was in very poor condition and they were unable to do anything to improve that. His comments “God bless you for helping me and my wife. Thanks to this assistance, we no longer have to worry about getting wet when it rains. God bless you!”
